Douglas Motorsport added to their tally of victories on Sunday last when Rodrigo Fonseca scored two dominant wins in BRDC Formula 4 at Brands Hatch, both from pole position.

In difficult conditions, the Mexican, a triple karting champion, made a strong start and immediately pulled away from his pursuers. Whilst the battles raged in his wake,  Fonseca managed the gap to perfection and even backed off towards the end, crossing the line over three seconds ahead of his nearest challenger.Douglas motorsport Brands Win

Rodrigo Fonseca– “I’m very happy, the team did a great job. It feels amazing to take my first win here. We had a good start and the guys behind were fighting so I managed to build a gap and it wasn’t too difficult a race. I still had to absorb pressure though without making mistakes. I hope this is the first of many!”.

Indeed, his words proved prophetic, as he replicated his performance in the following race the next day easing away from the battling pack and balancing the gap until the chequered flag to complete an impressive double at the Kent venue.

Wayne Douglas– Team Principal Douglas Motorsport- “I’m very happy with the weekend. We had a great balance in the car and Rodrigo drove superbly. BRDC Formula 4 is a close fought series so to comfortable win two races from pole is very satisfying.”
