BRDC British F3 Championship, 2018.

Rounds 13,14,15 Spa Francorchamps, July 21/22

The British F3 championship’s only meeting outside of the UK took place this weekend, at the Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium. Douglas Motorsport welcomed a new driver, Belgian Max Defourney.  Defourney immediately demonstrated his pace during the practice rounds and then in qualifying, where he qualified sixth on the grid and just a couple of tenths away from pole. An impressive feat as he only drove the car for the first time in the hours before qualifying

However, his weekend came to a premature end, a shunt at Raidillon on the second lap of the first race meant he was out for the weekend. Douglas Motorsport’s team have always been incredible when it comes to repairing the cars, working through the night to get drivers back on track, but this time the car was damaged beyond repair.

The best result of the weekend was Jamie Chadwick’s 6th place finish in race 2. The result of the race was later amended and bumped Jamie up to 5th place!
